  1. Fektilar says:
AllMusic Review by James Christopher Monger. "Jessica," the first single from former Moldy Peaches frontman Adam Green 's record Friends of Mine, is a tongue-in-cheek love letter to celebrity bimbo Jessica Simpson, to whom he pleads " Jessica Simpson where did your love go/It's not in your music." This disappointment with women continues on the acerbic "What a Waster," a cautionary tale 6/
  2. Vozil says:
The album's lyrics are the filthiest of any of Adam Green's solo records (take a listen to the first 30 seconds of "No Legs" if you want a good example), but they don't begin and end at simply being dirty; Adam forms a real musical persona for himself by delivering an endless stream of non sequiturs sung in an almost completely detached, laconic manner that still manages to sound warm, thanks to his deep /5(19).

  7. Mern says:
Adam Green is a funny one. He sings about Jessica Simpson and thinks it's hard to be a girl, but he's starstruck by your mom. Green's a charmer, that's for sure, and his second album of poetically quirky songs is amusing in that Tenacious D meets Ben Folds for brunch kind of way. Friends of Mine rides the waves of Jane Scarpantoni's string arrangements, and such a feature allows Green's smart 6/
  8. Taunos says:
Adam Green is brilliant. The songs are interesting, beautifully arranged, and delicately sung by Green's child-like baritone. Not everything is good, but the album is pretty consistent throughout and the best songs (Bluebirds, Jessica, Friends of Mine, Bunnyranch) are wondrous pieces of pop.
