Oct 26,  · Published on Oct 26, Bellowhead's song London Town from their 2nd Album Burlesque. Thought i'd upload a good quality video of a bellowhead song because they arn't covered that well on youtube.

If Tom Waits ever decided to make an album of traditional English folk, it might sound a little like Bellowhead, the folk big band. The aptly titled disc has a real circus quality to the sound, especially on the opener, "Rigs of the Time" and the more abstract "Flash Company," which make full use of the mix of brass and strings.

London Town Lyrics: Up London City I made my way / Up Cheapside I chose to stray / Where a fair pretty maid I there did meet / And I greeted her with kisses sweet / (x2) / I was up to the rigs / Down.

"Burlesque", is Bellowhead's much anticipated full length album. The album includes 13 songs and tunes inspired by a dazzling array of material from the Napoleonic Wars ("Rigs of the Time"), the American minstrel movement ("Jordan"), sea-shanties from Brazil ("Across the Line") and the spirit of the East Anglian step dance tradition "Sloe Gin".

"Burlesque" is the first album from Bellowhead - it came out in (so long ago?). It is a very good debut album although the sound they were looking for and are still refining wasn't quite there yet. So there are some gems - "London Town" for example and some misfires - the closing "Death And The Lady" for example.

Sep 22,  · Burlesque is the full-length debut album from Bellowhead and, as such, it's admirable how accomplished it is. However, if I was recommending an album for people new to the group to discover them, I would probably suggest they start with the “best of” compilation, Pandemonium, and, if they liked what they heard, proceed to discover the /5(64).
